SECURING ASWAN HIGH DAM

SECURING ASWAN HIGH DAM
AGAINST NUCLEAR ATTACKS & DISTRUCTIVE EARTHQUAKES

I got the idea on 1990 while I was watching a film on the TV about the Second World War and how the British could destroy the dams in Germany.

There was no air to ground missiles at that time and ground to ground rockets were very primitive and still experimental, they managed to drop a strong bomb from the air just to crack the body of the dam then the huge pressure of the water did the whole job and destroyed it.
A similar tactic should be used to destroy the Aswan High Dam, it cant be destroyed only by the power of nuclear bomb, it is like a mountain of solid rocks, 3,830 meters long, 980 meters wide at the base, 40 meters wide at the crest and 111 meters tall, I think that the bomb can only crack or destroy the upper 20 meters of the dam, however such bomb could cause something like Sonami, if it is dropped in water.

I did a little experiment, I got a disposable plastic cup, I made 2 holes with a pin 1 cm above the bottom, I made two cuts on the upper edge about 2 cm between them, 1 cm height like a gate, I closed the holes and the gate with my fingers and filled the cup with water to the top, I put the cup on a plate near to the edge, the holes towards the edge and the gate towards the center, I opened them all simultaneously, not a single drop of water fell down from the gate, all the water poured from the holes outside the plate.

If a number of tunnels are made in the side of the mountain surrounding the lake Nasser and near to the bottom of the lake, to be opened in case of emergency , the water in the lake could be evacuated to the desert before causing the collapse of the body of the dam, later on the body of the dam could be repaired and the lake could be filled with water again.
I also red a book about drilling petroleum wells and found that with a little modification the same technique could be used to drill those tunnels.
